Two Tone Lips Made Wearable using YSL Kiss and Blush

Two-tone lips are one of those things that look great in an editorial, in reality however they are pretty tough to wear. Colours will merge and re-applying while on the run will prove interesting!

Done right, it can be a beautiful summer alternative to that statement lip, with an avante garde twist, albeit high maintenance!

Finding the right products is key and the right colours of course – colours that will work beautifully together and have just enough contrast is what makes this look more wearable.

The products I used are YSL’s Baby Doll Kiss and Blush, a favourite of  mine of the ‘matts’.  It’s a luminous matt finish that glows nicely on the lips and not drying them out. A little silicone in the formulation adds a lovely smoothness to the lips. A little goes a long way and a few dabs give a beautiful lip stain or a flush of colour to the cheeks.

How To:

I used the colour Rose Frivole on the outer part of the lips fading it inwards to the central part of the lips. This will avoid harsh lines in-between the two colours. To the centre of the lips (both on the upper and lower part of the lip) I applied the second colour, Coral Affranchi  – a vibrant peach tone, again blending into the pink.

That’s basically it – no blotting or rubbing the lips together with this look! Keep the rest of the look simple with a light coat of mascara, and blush in either of the tones used on the lips, to tie it all in.
