Orchid Berry Lips Defaf Alamri

Orchid Berry Lips

Autumn is in full swing and out come the berry lipsticks! In all their different tones and intensities. One of my favourites is an orchid berry colour. A purply pinky lavender mix. While I love the more vampy berry’s, this is a more wearable shade that suits many skin tones.

And while some mixing is required, two products are all that’s needed.

To start I used a Laura Mercier lip liner in “crushed berry” as a lip stain, painting the entire lip with it. I soften any harsh lines so that the colour is diffused across the lip.

To place and add texture, I used my fingers to add YSL’s Kiss and Blush in “Rose Epicurian” . I started in the centre of the lips and worked my way out with just what was left on my finger. I then applied a second layer, again using my finger, this time only to the centre of the lips to get a subtle two-toned effect.

To clean up and ‘line’ the lip in the most natural way – use a little concealer and apply it with a brush around the lips focusing mainly on the corner of the lips. I use this method regularly when I want to add definition to the lips without using lip liner (and not just when darker lipstick is worn).

To do this I used BECCA’s ultimate covering crème (one of the creamiest concealers out there that doesn’t settle into fine lines) and a Trish McEvoy concealer brush.
